Ashley and Jacob’s Lake Fayetteville engagement session was so much fun! I had a blast with these guys. Jacob is the brother of a past bride of mine, so when he reached out, I was really excited because I loved working with his sister. So, I knew they were going to have the same experience during this engagement session!
Jacob and Ashley did their engagement session at Lake Fayetteville Park in AR. These guys loved to be with nature and be outside and active. So, they wanted their photos taken somewhere where that reflected that. Lake Fayetteville was perfect for it! It was actually my first time going there, and I was super impressed. It was gorgeous enough that I even came back with my kids for bike riding the weekend after!
I really loved talking with them and learning about how they got to know each other. They both worked at a pharmacy in Fort Smith. Jacob had waited to ask Ashley out the day before he was moving up north. And, obviously, It worked out! So, during the session, Ashley was picking at him about how long he waited. It was too funny!
We started the photoshoot in the field. I quickly noticed how playful they were. So, I started asking them to do silly things and fun poses. They were just excited to be there and getting to take photos. It didn’t matter what the prompts were!
The funniest thing that happened is how Jacob would just literally pick up Ashely and put her places when they needed to shift poses. He is this strong tall guy and Ashley is just so cute!
My favorite part was when I asked them to do a lift. They were so comfortable, so they were all for it! Jacob just lifted Ashley up in the air … and all of a sudden he dropped her! But he catches her into a perfect dip! It was just this natural moment for them, but it scared me half to death! I thought he was going to drop her, but she was just totally expecting it and said, “Oh yeah, this happens all the time!” They were just so naturally lovey and playful.
We were able to get some great shots in the field, but then I brought them to the lake. There we were able to get some romantic, but still adventurous, pictures! It was a beautiful evening, but it had been really really hot throughout the day. However, once we were on the shore of Lake Fayetteville it was actually cool and enjoyable.
Finally, we walked down this trail where a dam is located. We made our way under the bridge for a few photos. Then, right as the sun began setting, we climbed back up the rocks and made and got some pretty views!
I’m so excited for their wedding on Sept 3rd in Branson, Missouri. They’re getting married at Big Cedar Lodge and I can’t wait to see this perfect couple tie the knot!
