Kourtnie and Joseph’s College Campus Engagement Session | University of Arkansas

Kourtnie and Joseph have the most amazing engagement story! They began dating in high school and then when it was time to go to college, they both went to the same place – The University of Arkansas. They dated all throughout college and after they graduated they got  engaged in 2021. They’ve been together a total of nine years, and they’re so sweet together!    

Their proposal was super cute and special too! Joseph proposed to Kourtnie right in front of the Old Main building, which is one of the oldest and most beautiful structures on the campus. Not to mention he proposed to her during a snowstorm! Which only added to the beauty of the meaningful location. Since so much of their relationship happened at the school, they wanted to get some of their engagement photos there! 

Koutnie and Joseph brought their dog, Nova, to the photoshoot. Nova is a German Shepard and Husky mix, so she was this big fluffy adorable dog! During the shoot she was on high alert and hyper, because the University of Arkansas has a ton of squirrels there, and Nova was so distracted! I was absolutely obsessed with how cute and excited she was! Their parents came to dog-sit Nova after we took photos with her at the beginning of the session so we were able to focus on some photos with just the two of them!

We were able to walk around some on campus and get some really good pictures! One of my favorite spots, which I’ve only just learned about, was the horticulture building. In between these two horticulture buildings there’s this beautiful flower garden that’s maintained by the department! We were able to get some absolutely amazing pictures there and they were some of my favorites!

Kourtnie went to college for education and since graduating, she’s now a 2nd grade teacher. As I spent time talking and getting to know them, we were able to chat about my daughter who just started kindergarten. It was fun getting to talk to Kourtnie about all things kids and starting school!

Then, they changed their outfits to some more casual clothes – bluejeans, and nice shirts. Then we drove to the Wilson Springs Nature Reserve. The reserve is hidden and out of the way, but it is so beautiful! While we were there we got some of the more playful and relaxed photos of the session. I loved the snuggly pictures of them in the fields there, and I think Joseph really loved the piggy back ride that he gave to Kourtnie! Those photos all turned out so well!

This session was so much fun and I absolutely loved getting to know them!
