Gateley Hill Gardens Editorial Shoot | Dardanelle AR Photographer

Q

In Dardanelle AR, a Photographer passing through might find a pretty town, worth of a few photos. However, when I heard of the Gateley Hill Gardens and the chapel there, I had to see it for myself! I fell in love with it almost immediately! And I knew I had to have an Editorial shoot there!

The Gateley Hill Gardens is a cute little chapel in the middle of an isolated field with beautiful trees popping up everywhere, and soon there’ll be a reception hall there too.

I reached out to some industry friends and vendors I worked with before to help put on this editorial shoot. First was Jess Mattlock with Darling Blooms, an Arkansas Florist. And second was Brooke Baker with White Sage Weddings and Events. Jess and I always wanted to do a styled shoot together, and Brooke took on the design. I, of course, would be taking photos of the day! It was the most amazing team for an awesome day.

We all wanted to do a English/Spring cottage feel with the design to compliment the natural look of Gateley Hill Gardens. Brooke handmade a trellis for us to use, and Jess had her amazing florals all over it! Arden absolutely nailed it! She was the cutest and sweetest thing. She was super confident with the most amazing smile. Arden truly brought everything together – all the amazing colors in the florals and the designs and settings – for an amazing styled shoot!

One of the moments that will stick out with me forever is when we wanted to get a picture of the dress. It was this beautiful ball gown from Unveiled Bridal Collection based in Little Rock, Arkansas, so I absolutely had to get those shots! We had a vision of Arden on the floor with the dress all around her, so… I was going to need a ladder.

Crystal’s (the owner of Gateley Hill Gardens) husband showed up with an industrial ladder to save the day! I was at the top of the ladder, with my head touching the ceiling. And I was certain I was going to fall and hurt myself! We were cracking up laughing the whole time. But I got the shots and they turned out amazing!

Lastly, to complete the English Cottage design, Brooke brought her newborn baby Lamb who had just been born two days before to join us in the shoot! Bella the lamb was so cute and sassy, and we were able to get some awesome shots with her and Arden. Jess decorated Bella with flowers around her collar while Arden played with her and the shots we got of them together were just amazing!

Now, I love getting photos of sunsets. The colors are always beautiful and this sunset was no different! These were the final shots of the shoot, and the colorful florals provided by Jess accented sight of the chapel as the sun was going down. It was absolutely breathtaking!

We all finished off the evening with some pretty (and pretty delicious) purple cocktails provided by Brooke. It was a perfect finish to a perfect Dardanelle AR day for a photographer and her friends and favorite vendors!
