Engagement photos document a special time in your life, and it can pass by so quickly! So, you need to cherish this time as much as possible. You can have lasting memories through photos, and they’re worth dressing up for. So here are some tips on elevating your look and choosing the perfect dressy engagement photo outfits!

Tip #1: Guys Should Wear a Suit Set When Possible

Guys, the number 1 suggestion for you is to pick out a suit when making decisions about your  dressy engagement photo outfits. Let’s face it, wearing a suit makes any guy 10x sexier and your girl will be swooning over how good you look! This is a classic look that you can never go wrong with when choosing dressy engagement photo outfits.

Now it might be a little hot, but I promise it’s worth it. And, you don’t have to wear black! To stay cooler, you can always try a lighter color, like cream or light gray. And you can wear a tie to match the girl’s dress or for a more casual dressy look, wear the shirt open collar. OH! Don’t forget to match your shoes and belt. This is something that’s easily overlooked but matching your shoes and belt together make a big difference in the overall look of your suit.

Tip #2: Coordinate Your Dressy Engagement Photo Outfits

It’s important to coordinate no matter what you wear to your engagement session but especially important when you’ve decided to go for a more formal and elevated look than just casual photos. The last thing you want is for your outfits to clash because it takes away from the classic/elegant look you want your dressy engagement photo outfits to have! So, you should try not to match colors exactly but instead coordinate. Utilize the color chart or different color schemes that you can easily look up online to find inspiration for! Wearing shades of the same color (like light blue paired with navy blue) will always look flattering!

Tip #3: Ladies Need to Wear Long Dresses

Wearing long dresses makes you appear taller and gives motion to photos that brings elegance that short dresses just can’t deliver as well. They’re also perfect for twirling images or when your man dips and kisses you! Finally, it’s a way to look fancy in your dressy engagement photo outfits while still staying cool because you can feel the breeze. It’s amazing how just choosing to wear a maxi dress/skirt will elevate your look!

Tip #4: Ladies – Invest in Professional Hair & Makeup

Since you’re already investing a lot in your photos, you might as well go all the way! Professional hair and makeup artists know how to create lasting looks and styles so that your makeup and hair stay flawless throughout the entire session! And, they know how to adjust your makeup to look the best on camera. Plus, this adds some “pampering” time to your prep, which can make you feel more relaxed and happier going into the session and that will definitely show in the photos!
