The Houstman Family session at Tanyard Creek | Family Photographer

When the Houstman’s approached me to be the family photographer for their session at Tanyard Creek, I was so excited! I absolutely love this location! In June, everything is so green, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite spots to get wildflower shots.

The Houstman’s are such an awesome family! They’re so nice, and their kids are just the cutest. The entire session was just full of fun and energy. The entire family was just laid back and easy to photograph, and it made for beautiful pictures! 

It was actually quite a humid day, but everyone did really well despite the air. I was able to get some cute pictures of their kids in a bed of wildflowers at the bottom of the creek. Then, we were able to walk up to the lake. I always like to hike up there, and the time of day meant it had perfect lighting!

Once we were up at the water’s edge, the boys were able to just play and I was able to get a ton of candid photos of them just having a blast! Kids always like to throw rocks into the lake, and they were no exception! And, by the end of it, they were even getting into the water and playing. I just enjoy being able to capture the innocence and curiosity on camera!  

One of my favorite moments of this family session was when I was able to get a picture of one of the boys bending down to pick up a rock, and I took a picture of the top of his head. You could just see how soft and curly his hair is, and love that I was able to capture this for the family. It was just a beautiful moment and a memory of this time of their life!

It was a great photo session and an amazing day! I loved working with this family and I know that I had just as much fun as they did!
