Madi and Ty are one of the cutest couples I’ve had the opportunity to photograph. Madi is a kindergarten teacher in Arkansas. And when I heard that, I became super excited! My daughter is currently in kindergarten. And she just started this year, so, I instantly felt a connection to this couple. It was so awesome hearing how she teaches and how much fun it is because I see it on my daughter’s face every day! Ty plays baseball for Central Baptist College, so it was really cool to meet a semi-professional baseball player! Getting to learn about them was really fun and I got to talk about being an Arkansas photographer a bit and we bonded over some shared loves!
They brought their super cute little fur-baby with them too! Benji was so much fun. He was the toughest little thing, and super protective of his parents. If people were walking around us or talking near us, he was on high alert and ready to protect his people. But, he was so tiny! Madi and Ty put Benji in a tuxedo outfit and he was just the cutest little thing on four legs!
We started taking photos at the Arkansas State Capitol Building and I could do my photographer thing uninterrupted since it was a sunday and there were no crowds there. It was gorgeous there, as it always is! I love all the trees and stone columns. It always makes photo shoots feel so much more sophisticated!
Then, we drove to downtown Little Rock, and went up a parking garage near the children’s museum. On top of the parking garage there is a beautiful view of the city, and I was able to get some shots of Ty and Madi with the entire area in the background. While they were here, they changed outfits. And I was able to get them just hanging out and being themselves! Madi was rocking a jean jacket that said “Mrs. Decker.”
Additionally, little Benji was changed into a bandana that said, “My People Are Getting Married” and it was so awesome! He was the star of the show!
Madi and Ty were both super laid back, easy and confident. I loved working with them, and I was able to capture a lot of amazing candid shots! There were so many smiles and giggles that day, and you could tell they truly love each other so much! And I loved getting a chance to capture their love!
