3 Easy Tips For Reducing Wedding Stress

Q

Everyone should be ready for wedding stress overwhelming them the day before the ceremony! But not to fear, being like this is actually quite normal. Brides and grooms often come to ask me for ways to reduce that wedding stress! It’s actually a lot easier than most people think. Follow along for 3 easy ways to do it!

Prioritize Sleep The Night Before

Something I always do is tell my brides and grooms to have a bachelor or bachelorette party literally any time other than the night before the wedding day. I know its tradition, and some people like to do it the night before. But, you do not want to be exhausted or hung over for your ceremony. Do the parties a 1-3 months before. It does not have to be the night before the wedding day, nor should it! I also tell my brides and grooms that it’s okay if you want to do your rehearsal dinner, and hang with friends and family the night before, but you need to make sure you’re getting to bed on time and getting plenty of rest the night before. This definitely helps you through the wedding day when you have energy, even if you don’t sleep well the night before.

Eat Breakfast To Reduce Wedding Stress

On the morning of the wedding, eat breakfast! A lot of the time brides or even couples will be so stressed or in a rush that they won’t eat. But it’s very important to make sure you eat a full breakfast so you have energy for the day. And, brides, I know you’re worried about fitting in your dress, so you don’t want to eat too much. But you need to eat! The wedding day goes by fast and there’s going to be a lot of times where food will be right in front of you but you won’t be able to sit down to eat or snack while you’re in the middle of family photos or the ceremony. This can even happen during the reception! I’ve seen brides not eat and pass out mid wedding day. You don’t want that!

Keep The People Who Make You Comfortable Around You

Something that helps with wedding stress, is if you have a wedding party, keep the people you love and trust and are comfortable with close to you on the wedding day. Your party should be full of people who help you feel your best. If there’s a person who typically causes stress or anxiety for you, that person should simply not be in your party if you can help it. Because these are the people who will be close to you and around you and will help you in small moments of stress and worry. They can help you grab snacks or help with dress, or hold things while you go to the bathroom. It’s the same thing with the grooms. If you have a friend who’s not a good influence who’ll make you drink way too much. You probably don’t want to include him in your party either!

The biggest piece of advice I can give you, is to keep your focus on your partner. Don’t worry about anything else, because ultimately, all that matters are you and your fiance who’s about to become your spouse! You should take time throughout the day to just enjoy each other. This is the first day of the rest of your lives!
